Prologue 

Hello all.. Long time no see! Confusion of choosing information was being our problem on last, but now, we will inform you about last two-days phenomenon, on 19th March 2011, Supermoon. Because we live in Indonesia, we will describe what happened here. Ya actually from newspapers and TV we heard that supermoon would appear at 7pm but because of a heavy rain, we couldn't see that, and the supermoon was just can be seen at 2.10am. How surprised... So we took some photos from internet. Here there are.

Supermoon Phenomena and Natural Disasters

Senja Astronomi (Astronomical Twilight)

Selamat malam para pembaca semua, kali ini kami akan mengulas sedikit tentang Senja Astronomi. Apa sebelumnya ada yang sudah pernah dengar tentang senja astronomi? Kalau belum, perlu baca nih...

Senja astronomi terbagi tiga, Senja Sipil (Civil Twilight), Senja Nautikal (Nautical Twilight), dan Senja Astronomikal. Senja sipil itu ciri-cirinya matahari sudah berada di bawah garis cakrawala, yaitu kira-kira selang waktu 30 menit setelah matahari terbenam, dan 30 menit sebelum terbit. Cahaya matahari dipantulkan atmosfer, sehingga kita masih bisa melihat benda dengan jelas dan kita dapat melihat cantiknya warna lembayung di langit.

Nah, tadi itu sekilas tentang senja sipil. Sekarang tentang senja nautikal. Ketika senja yang satu ini sedang berlangsung kita dapat melihat bintang bermagnitudo 1&2 dan batas cakrawala terlihat jelas. Zaman dahulu ini saat yang tepat untuk menentukan posisi kapal dengan mengukur ketinggian bintang dari cakrawala.

Yang terakhir adalah senja astronomikal. Dimulai 1,5 jam setelah matahari terbenam. Ini adalah waktu yang tepat untuk mengamati bintang-bintang di langit.

Fermi vs TGF

11 Januari 2011 para ilmuwan NASA menggunakan Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope telah mendeteksi sinar antimateri di atas badai di bumi, dan fenomena ini tidak pernah terlihat sebelumnya. Jadi para ilmuwan itu mengira kalau partikel antimateri itu terbentuk di dalam badai dan berhubungan dengan petir, dan muncul TGF (Terrestrial Gamma-ray Flash).

Menurut para ilmuwan hasil dari pendeteksian Fermi menempatkan mereka selangkah lebih depan untuk memahami munculnya TGF. TGF ini menghasilkan elekktron yang amat tinggi yang mengganggu medan magnet bumi dan menyerang pesawat luar angkasa dan memicu terjadinya badai.

Cantik sih, tapi seram juga kalau ini partikel elektron!

Robonaut 2

Tanggal 31 Januari kemarin saya googling cari info tentang astronomi yang terbaru, dan ternyata saya menemukan ini di situs www.science.nasa.gov.

Si Kuning

Tenang, tenang, ini bukan gambar power ranger baru kok! Ini adalah Robonaut 2 atau biasa disebut R2. Tapi bukan R2 yang ada di stick Play Station ya -_-

Jadiii, si kuning ini rencananya akan di launching bulan Februari ini, tapi gatau ya tepatnya kapan. Katanya Rob Ambrose dari NASA Johnson Space Center sekarang lagi proses pemasangan kaki. Repot juga ya ngerakit R2. Tujuan utama dibuatnya R2 ini adalah tak lain dan tak bukan untuk membantu pekerjaan para astronot. Curang juga, robot bisa ikut ke luar angkasa secara cuma-cuma. Hebat kan?

Sickening Solar Flare

Heyya! Long time no post, kinda boring of this stuff uhuhu. Well now We're gonna tell you something! Do you know "Solar Flare" issue? Lil scaring us because it has so many effects and from issue, 2012 would be the year of. Here let us share something.

1. Communication and Radio Transmission

Can you imagine, no lights, no phone call, no SMS, no tv, no water pump, no GPS, all black and become so ancient! So we have to start from ze-ro. Oh my...

2. Water and Electricity systems gone!

Everytime, everyone, in everywhere, needs water. It supposed to clean, hygiene, and fresh water. Maybe the production would be stopped. Well, almost all our daily need sync wif electricity system. No electricity in big city may cause a big disaster!

Do you believe it or not? I actually won't believe it, I prefer pray to God more rather than thinking about what-will-happen-in-future. God knows the best. Amin..

Back off! It's new new!

Halo semuanya! Maaf ya baru sempat posting, soalnya lagi asik ngeblog disini. Hehehe.. Beberapa hari yang lalu saya dapat berita bahwa ternyata crop circle yang ada di Sleman itu buatan manusia! Haha karena dari awal Lapan memang masih berpendapat bahwa itu buatan manusia, jadi fifty-fifty apakah itu buatan manusia atau bukan. Beberapa hari yang lalu, 6 mahasiswa MIPA UGM jurusan matematika mengaku bahwa crop circle tersebut adalah buatan mereka. Sampai sekarang masih belum jelas apa motif mereka melakukan hal tersebut. Ya.. Dari satu sisi mereka memang melakukan kesalahan dengan merusak lahan pertanian milik si Petani, tetapi disisi lain bisa kita lihat betapa rincinya hasil crop circle yang mereka buat, hasilnya sangat rapih!

Crop Circle

Have you ever heard about crop circle? Yeah, it's sizable pattern created by the flattening of a crop such as wheat, barley, rye, maize, orrapeseed. Crop circles are also referred to as crop formations, because they are not always circular in shape.

Finally!

Indonesia’s first crop circles have appeared -- and locals call it evidence of alien life.

Found in a rice field in a hamlet of Sleman, Yogyakarta, the crop circle consists of triangles and circles with a diameter of about 70 meters. While some observes say the shapes are manmade, local scientists and government officials are struggling for a concrete explanation, leaving UFO enthusiasts murmuring of extraterrestrials.

"According to several residents, they saw a tornado on Saturday evening," said Ngadiran, one of six farmers who owns the land in Sleman. "On Sunday afternoon, we saw the footprint in our fields."

The pattern was first reported by a farmer, Tukiman, on Sunday at 6 a.m. His story drew hordes of people, causing heavy traffic congestion in the region. Enthusiastic locals all seem to have their own theory on the genesis of the mysterious occurrence.

"I think they were left by an alien space ship, like one I saw on TV," Krasakan resident Cahyo Utomo told the Jakarta Post on Monday. "It is impossible that this was made by wind or any animal."

Others noted the pattern's unique symbology. "This particular crop circle is fascinating because of its striking resemblance to the muladhara chakra -- one of the basic chakras in Tantric Hinduism," Perdana told local news agency kompas.com.

But officials remain skeptical that the crop circle is evidence of a close encounter of the third kind.

"We will not send investigators to the scene because we suspect the crop circle involves human intervention, not natural phenomena, nor scientific phenomena associated with outer space creatures commonly referred to as aliens," Thomas Djamaluddin, chief of astronomy research at Indonesia's space agency, told the Jakarta Globe.

The emergence of crop circles around the world have become increasingly prevalent since the 1970s, their mysterious appearance causing many to consider them the work of UFOs.

In 1991, self-professed pranksters Doug Bower and Dave Chorley went public to claim responsibility for the trend, demonstrating their skill at making the typically ornate pattern in less than an hour.

At least some crop circles have been proven hoaxes, but some remain convinced of their otherworldly connections. The former head of the Bosscha Observatory, Moedji Rharto, is taking a pragmatic approach.

"If this really is the work of a UFO or extraterrestrial beings, it is almost 100 percent certain they would have left some sort of trace behind. It is highly improbable such beings could cover such distances without bringing along some sort of provisions," Moedji told the Jakarta Post.

No such evidence has yet been retrieved.

Ophiuchus 

Sebenarnya bintang baru ini bukanlah sistem rasi bintang baru yang menjadi dasar perhitungan bintang. Dalam astronomi, dikenal ada 88 rasi bintang yang berada di langit.

Ophiuchus adalah salah satu dari 88 rasi bintang, dan juga satu dari 48 rasi yang didaftar oleh astronom ternama dunia, Claudius Ptolemaeus (Ptolemy), yang hidup tahun 90 hingga tahun 168.

Perlu dibedakan antara astronomi dan astrologi. Astronomi adalah ilmu yang melibatkan pengamatan dan penjelasan kejadian yang terjadi di luar bumi dan atmosfernya.

Ilmu ini mempelajari asal-usul, evolusi, sifat fisik, dan kimiawi benda-benda yang bisa dilihat di langit (dan di luar Bumi), juga proses yang melibatkan mereka. Sedangkan astrologi adalah ilmu yang menghubungkan antara gerakan benda-benda tatasurya (planet, bulan, matahari) dengan nasib manusia.

Astrologi menekankan pada pengaruh bintang terhadap karakter, ramalan akan hidup dari sisi percintaan, kesehatan, keuangan, dan hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan manusia.

Ophiuchus juga sebenarnya masuk dalam zodiak modern Barat yang selama ini hanya memasang 12 zodiak yang dikenal. Ophiuchus yang dalam bahasa Yunani berarti si Penangkap Ular ini menjadi satu-satunya yang tidak memiliki lambang astrologi.

Mengapa tahun ini tiba-tiba Ophiuchus dimasukkan dalam sistem penamaan zodiak? Ceritanya bermula saat rasi bintang ditemukan kembali oleh astronom saat mendekati matahari Februari 2006 silam.

Menurut BBC, berdasarkan pengamatan astronom dunia, rasi bintang Ophiuchus sudah mendekati matahari dan memunculkan supernova spektakuler. Jurnal ilmiah dunia, Nature, juga melaprokan bintang-bintang di rasi ini sangat terang dan tampak jelas di kosmos.

Sebegitu terangnya hingga Ophiuchus bisa dilihat dari bumi tanpa peralatan teleskop sekalipun. Adalah astronom Denmark, Tycho Brahe, pada tahun 1572 yang pertama kali melihat kemunculan rasi itu.

Nah, rasi yang baru menampakkan dirinya lagi ini sebelumnya tidak dikenali dan hanya disebut sebagai New Star. Namun, astronomi modern membuktikan, rasi yang dilihat oleh Brahe sama dengan rasi bintang yang dilihat astronom Februari 2006 lalu.

Astronom dari Harvard University, Jeno Sokoloski, menyatakan di masa dalam abad terakhir, ada beberapa ledakan supernova yang mengindikasikan adanya pergeseran rasi.

“Dimulai secara lambat dan hanya sekejap dalam dua hari, dan hal itu mengindikasikan kepada kami bahwa terjadi ledakan massif. Bahkan sebenarnya, hampir kolaps,” kata Sokoloski menjelaskan akibat ledakan itu.

Nah, ini pulalah yang mendasari para astrologi memasukkan Ophiuchus dalam sistem zodiak modern yang merujuk pada zodiak Barat. 

Astrolog memastikan zodiak baru ini akan masuk dalam sistem penamaan bintang karena rasi bintang biasanya memakan waktu ratusan tahun untuk bergeser kembali.

Rasi bintang Ophiuchus pertama kali muncul di abad kedua. Ptolemy mendaftarkan sebagai bintang ke-29 dari 48 rasi bintang. Diperkirakan rasi ini akan muncul kembali dalam jangka waktu 1.700 tahun lagi.

Alasan Ophiuchus tidak dimasukkan dalam astrologi barat selama ratusan tahun karena hanya ada 12 rasi bintang yang selama ini mengikuti perputaran benda-benda langit dalam sistem tatasurya seperti bulan, planet, dan matahari.
